update_thought

posts:write

Edit a saved thought's text, kind or tags, or set status 'archived' when the user no longer wants posts about it (status 'new' brings it back). Archived thoughts stop feeding content generation. Find ids with list_thoughts.

Input

  • thoughtIdstring (uuid)required
  • textstring

    min length 3 · max length 4000

  • kindstring

one of thought, tip, opinion, story, lesson

  • statusstring

    one of new, drafted, archived

  • tagsarray<string>

    at most 8 items

Permission

Needs the posts:write scope: create drafts. It changes your workspace, so clients may ask you to confirm each call.

Example call

Your assistant sends this for you. It is shown so you can see the shape of a call, with placeholder values for the required fields.

Same action over the REST API

The tool runs PATCH /v1/orgs/{orgId}/thoughts/{thoughtId} as the signed-in user, with the same validation, approval rules and limits. See it in the Thoughts API reference.
